Media Popculture - Review #2

UFC Undisputed 2011 (Video Game - PS3)

I often play lots of video games, but one in particular that I play everyday is UFC Undisputed 2011 for PS3. I'm a huge MMA fan and this game is simply the best for the sport. It features the UFC's original five weight classes and all it's top and popular fighters. The game has many different features, from simple single player exhibition (my favorite) to two player matches to online multiplayer. This game is a good step up from the original 2010 version in every way. However there is still room for improvement. Knock outs should look and feel a little more realistic, rather than sudden basic topple over after a good strike. Another thing that they didn't improve on this the original version is the "getting rocked" sequence. After you land a clean strike against your opponent and deal enough damage, he gets "rocked" however the screen merely turns black and white and your opponent begins moving lethargically. In a real fight, once someone is "rocked" they tend to stumble over, even fall right now, not just walk around slowly.

Despite the couple things I'd like changed, the game is still amazing. Any MMA fan would appreciate the close attention to detail the game puts on all aspects. The game allows you to essentially do whatever a real fighter can do, with each character having there own skill sets based of the real thing. The UFC Undisputed game line is one of my favorites. I always look forward to the improvements in every new version. I find myself playing this game all the time, as it is incredibly fun due to all the match ups you can have, and the easy to learn controls make it a game anyone could enjoy. Simply a great game for any MMA fan.
